The Legion is both a national charity and a membership organisation. The strength of the legion lies in its membership, and good management at every Legion formation level is fundamental to its cotinuing success!
Branch Responsibilities:
The legion is only as effective as its branches. They therefore, carry a very considerable responsibility on behalf of the charity itself and also in the eyes of the public! Responsibilities are set out in the Royal Charter and the Branch bye laws.

Anybody wishing to volunteer or get involved with the branch can do so by contacting the branch secretary by phone on Our Branch is always on the lookout for new volunteers to help us and get involved with our initiatives such as volunteering their time to the poppy appeal and helping contribute to the continuing success of the Middlesbrough Branch Royal British Legion! Volunteers are needed for initiatives such as: Volunteer Casework Volunteer caseworkers are active in the local community the whole year round: Hospital & Housebound Visitors This is one of the oldest of the Legion’s schemes, and encapsulates what our welfare network is all about - people looking out for each other. Sometimes ex-Service men and women who are either housebound or in hospital have no contact with the outside world. So the couple of hours our Visitors spend with them can mean the world.
